How does a decanter filter work?
The complete system with the SN 001 filter physically separates the fuel from the water through decantation (see Separation and Filtration: our expertise). The fuel, loaded with water, enters the filter at the head. The mixture passes through a filter medium, which is designed to retain unwanted particles. The liquid then flows down to the decanter bowl. At this stage, the settling process can take place. Thanks to gravity, the water, which has a higher density than the fuel, settles to the bottom of the bowl. A drain is installed to empty the collected water. The final step is for the purified fuel to flow back up the central tube and then be re-injected into the system to ensure that the equipment functions properly.
In short, by blocking impurities through the media and separating water through decantation, this fuel filter retains the various contaminants, both liquid and solid, to preserve the purity of the fuel and thus protect the engine and the injection system.
